We Will Go the Way of What We're Willing to Say

Another post…another poem about truth.

Since this is what’s been heavy on my heart, I might as well “practice what I preach” or more accurately, “post what I speak.” To see the poem I posted prior to this one, click here.

And now, without further adieu, another poem I wrote just for you (and for me, too)…

We will go the way

of what we’re willing to say

Christians, its time to rise

speak up and defend God’s Word

because other voices are getting louder

and our weak whispers cannot be heard

Are we willing to verbalize what we see with our eyes

what we know with our minds and feel in our hearts

because, that, dear friends, is a good place

well, it’s the very best place to start

We must call it like we see it

through the lens of a Biblical Worldview

lest we cower and bend

and give in to what we know not to be true

The more things spin out of control

the more twisted the truth gets

the lines start to blur

and lies seem to be legit

Our hearts grow indifferent

and our wills become weak

our minds start to doubt

till we are convinced not to speak

but…

We will go the way

of what we’re willing to say

If we’re willing to speak up for it

we better believe it and know why

and not be deceived

by giving into the lies

Deception is a slippery slope

with its subtle twists and turns

it convinces us to feel like

we’ve got so much more to learn

But do not be fooled

God’s Word is enough

His Truth is better

than all the world’s stuff

But the question remains

will we speak up to defend it

the world will cry “hate speech”

since others are offended

The choice is ours to make

we will stand on pretty little lies

or will we stand on God’s Truth

and not give in to compromise

Because…

We will go the way

of what we’re willing to say

To defend God’s Truth

is to offend its opposition

we must not conflate the two

but rather decide our position

Time is fleeting

we must be on guard

people are hurting

life is hard

So get off the bench

get into the game

do your part

Speak His Name

Stand for truth

and stop the lies

It’s getting late

stay awake, be wise

It’s an all out attack

a war to be won

and we know who wins

this is not done

And remember…

We will go the way

of what we're willing to say

Are you willing to apologize

for a wrong you did not commit

because the guilt others are imposing on you

seems way too legit

Friends, that’s not being awake

that’s called being woke

and quite frankly, and rather dangerously

it’s become a twisted joke

because it’s laughable to think

some new age ideology

can be more powerful or more purposeful

than sound doctrinal theology

So as you follow His ways

speak them out, loud and proud

be a voice for Truth

don’t follow the crowd

It may be unpopular

and a little radical, too

but say it anyway

God Himself will defend you

So…

Let’s go the way

of what we’re willing to say

Since He is the way

we should get out of His way

let Him lead the way

cause there’s no other way

Start speaking up for the only truth,

the whole truth, and nothing but the truth,

the very Word of God,

so help us God.

Because…

We will go the way

of what we’re willing to say.

If you stand up for Truth

it will stand up for you

It will defend itself

and defend you, too

There is nothing in this world

that can make it more true

Christ’s birth, death, and resurrection

settled that for me and you

It is finished

Truth is here

Let’s walk in it

lest we fear

Or more importantly

lest we stray

because we will definitely

follow the words we say

Church, let’s work together

stop messing around

flirting with the world

and letting God down

It grieves His heart

it should grieve ours, too

we cannot stay silent

when we stand for truth

Yes…

We will go the way

of what we’re willing to say.

“and you will be hated by all for my name's sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. When they persecute you in one town, flee to the next, for truly, I say to you, you will not have gone through all the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.” ~ Matthew 10:22-23

“Ah, stubborn children,” declares the Lord, “who carry out a plan, but not mine, and who make an alliance, but not of my Spirit, that they may add sin to sin.” ~ Isaiah 30:1

“If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours. But all these things they will do to you on account of my name, because they do not know him who sent me. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have been guilty of sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. Whoever hates me hates my Father also. If I had not done among them the works that no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin, but now they have seen and hated both me and my Father. But the word that is written in their Law must be fulfilled: ‘They hated me without a cause.’ But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me. And you also will bear witness, because you have been with me from the beginning.” ~ John 15:18-27

“So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven.” ~ Matthew 10:32-33
