God's Standard is Set. We Must Never Forget...

God’s standard is set

We must never forget

Our words may fail

His Word will always prevail

I’ve been a little MIA on the blog lately, 3 weeks to be exact, which is the longest breath I’ve taken since I’ve been verbally processing on this platform for nearly a year now. But please don’t mistake my mute for lack of having something to say. Actually, I’ve had far too much to say. I’ve just been processing a little more privately than publicly lately.

Processing all that is going on in the world through the lens of a Biblical worldview, with God’s Word as our standard and His love as our guide, we can never go wrong and never lose our way, because He will never lead us astray.

So, if this world is a little too much for you, too, might I encourage you to pull away. Spend more time reading His Word than you spend reading others’ words. Spend more time measuring your motives to His standard than you do trying to please others, fit in, or not offend.

Honestly, I’m worn out by all the words — especially the vile words being spewed because of the evil being pursued. Did you know the words evil and vile are made up of the same letters, just placed in a different order? And what this spells out to me is that evil is evil no matter how you try to twist or spin it, hide or disguise it.

I’m worn out by the lack of common sense and the disregard for Biblical Truth that’s actually perpetuating the evil (all under the guise of “the right thing” or “the loving thing”). Let me tell you — lying to someone is never right, and it definitely is not loving.

I’m worn out by Christians falling prey to this evil by buying into its lies, all in the name of “love,” when really, loving the world is actually hating God (James 4:4).

If God is Love, why are we (as Christians) trying to redefine what He has said love is to fit into a world that has never understood love and everyday slips further and further away from His love. His standard. His ways.

Yes. God is love. And because He is love, He alone defines love. His love has a standard. He set the standard when He set us apart. He gave us His Holy Spirit and His Word to live according to that standard.

Yes. God is love. And His love holds to a Biblical definition that has not and will never change throughout time. He displayed that definition of Love by sending His son to die for us that we might live for Him. And living for Him is living in victory over the evil schemes. It recognizes wrong. It calls out sin. It honors Him. His love forgives, yes, but His love does not and will never perpetuate sin. It will always and forever draw us to Him.

I’m not sure what’s more frustrating — the enemy’s lies or Christians that compromise because they’ve been fooled by the disguise. God’s love is not defined by our interpretation, or more accurately, our justification of sin, and His standard does not bend to our every whim.

God’s love is held firm and fast by the objective Truth of His Word. It is not “this” one day and “that” the next. It is not subject to change. It forever stays the same.

So, when I get worn out by all the words, I will continue to go to His Word. It is the only word that speaks a better word. It is the only word that brings hope to a hurting world. It is the only word that shines a light into this dark world, exposing evil and offering a better way — the only way, truth, and life.

God’s standard is set

And we are set apart

Not like this world

So we can’t lose heart

We may grow weary

But we must not quit

We can try to justify

But sin will never fit

Into that holy standard

Our God has firmly set

We must stand up for Truth

And never ever forget

His Ways are higher

The highest, above the rest

And His love is truer

The truest, the best

So, cling to His standard

As He clings to you

Let It rule your heart and mind

And everything you say and do

As I find a few words to share with you today after a brief pause on this platform, my prayer will continue to be that we ALL seek His truth in His Word over any substitute truth this world offers through it’s words. May we not grow weary in this war of words as we remember His Word will forever speak a better word, a timely word, a life changing word, and It is the only Word that can bring about any change in this world.

God’s standard is set

We must never forget

Our words may fail

His Word will always prevail
